Building of the church began in 1847 and the church opened in January 1855.

The 123 replaced the 24 in 1993.

Custom House was designed by James Gandon. Completed 1791 on reclaimed land. Took 10 years to complete. Cost £200,000 sterling

Replaced old building that was situated to the west on Essex Quay.
