We are moving dangerously close to martial law. Trump openly said he intends to “go after” Chicago and New York in his next federal crackdown, saying he’s prepared to deploy U.S. troops against civilians.

Last week, Boston received a letter from AG Bondi threatening to prosecute officials and withhold funds unless we cooperate with carrying out mass deportations.

ICE seeks proprietary data and tech to monitor up to a million people The DHS component published an RFI seeking the services of a company to scour data sources and help identify “potentially criminal and fraudulent behavior before crime and fraud can materialize.”

“When we think about ICE, we have to recognize it’s not just sworn officers anymore, but a network of private intelligence contractors who get paid to probe a vast array of data,” EFF’s @maassive.bsky.social told @fedscoop.bsky.social - possibly with political motivations.

Investigations are now underway into officers and ICE agents who fired crowd-control munitions at dangerously close range. In case after case, the situation only escalated when force was used against peaceful protesters.

LAPD’s Chief says they still have no idea what the military’s mission in LA is.

There are no open deconfliction channels between the military and local law enforcement.

Having multiple groups with weapons operating in the same area with no way to communicate is fucking insane.
