The deliberate misunderstanding of communication and even basic concepts is at unprecedented levels.

This is a grad student, by the way.

Such ignorance had been fuelled by feckless and unethical politicians and media, and we are all the worse for it. The future of the world feels bleak.

Imagine persevering for months/years with a manuscript, refusing to use AI to summarise, cut, or restructure it partly because of academic rigour, ethical considerations & not wanting your unpublished material loaded into the these programs, evening paying for proof readers and editors...

even though it might have saved so much time, only for it to happen anyway when you're ready to publish.

The world is not over populated, by the way, that's just white supremacist thinking.

Capitalism is literally the problem.

For decades these companies would rather waste perfectly good food than give it away because they were concerned it'd affect their profits.

I once had to pour hundreds of bottles of wine down the drain because there was a problem with the label.

Also skip fulls of toys and clothes.

Not to mention the massive sacks of food every day.

And I really think people have no idea the amount of food, drink, clothing & non-food goods that gets thrown away in every store every day.

It's truly incredible.

About time. I worked for Tesco for 5 years.

We were not allowed to take or redistribute expiring food or goods, everything had to be thrown in the skip, some retailers put bleach in their skips to spoil it on purpose.

No one was interested in anyone's ideas regarding donating or charity then.
