👉🏼 The National Defense Cadet Corps (NDCC) is an alternative that would provide the same program services as JROTC, but it is funded by the school division. Currently, LCPS is looking into where such a program could be housed.

As a member of the BWHS SCA, Jordan Keltz said that he has enjoyed learning to be a leader AND be part of something bigger than himself.

Notable highlights from his remarks included DECA, athletics, and fine arts accomplishments. He also thanked the PTSO for supporting the myriad of programs, events, clubs, and more at Briar Woods, which are opportunities to get all students involved for a sense of belonging.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of BWHS, and Mr. Keltz was pleased to note that several current members of the staff have been with the school since it opened. There are now educators at BWHS who graduated as Falcons as well!

From the Little River District, senior Jaden Keltz represented Briar Woods High School. Mr. Keltz is a member of many service organizations, and he emphasized his drive to give back to his community.

Any adopted attendance zone changes would take effect in fall 2026, with the start of the 2026-2027 school year.

We did not need to make any attendance zone decisions last night. We were presented with background, proposals, a timeline of public hearings and work sessions, and resources.

While potential attendance zone changes in these planning districts might not impact a large number of Little River District students, I want to ensure that my constituents are informed and engaged with the process.

Tonight, the School Board was presented with information about review of elementary school attendance zones in the Ashburn and Dulles North planning districts, with information about enrollment, potential overcrowding, and proposed options.
