It's awful for you having to put up with that ignorance. I find most people are embarrassed when they're pulled up about it. My friend's husband is Algerian, they get a lot of it too. Her 92 year old mum takes on the racists, usually quite loudly.

I never let it go. My son in law is Indian, he lives with my daughter in Darwin, he suffers from "casual racism" and "banter".

I was in Asda last week, a man started talking to me about the tedium of shopping. He said if he won the lottery he'd get a little black kid to do his shopping. I was shocked and I told him not to say things like that. He said ok, he'd get a little kid. Imagine thinking it's ok to speak like that.

I'm sad to say that since leaving Twitter/X my sales for live shows have dropped quite a lot - it turns out that even though it's a dreadful place it was still useful for getting the word out about events. So any shares / RTs of my posts about live shows are hugely appreciated!
