As a product designer I’m always trying to make complex things more comfortable. While I have no intent on trying to be a personal finance guru I’m starting to publish some of the processes that have helped me and other take care of their money.

I often hear, “it’s for MVP, we just need this piece” without considering the big picture. I’m always reminded by what Marty Neumeier says in “Metaskills”, “you can put your hat on first or your boots on first but before that you have to decide you’re a cowboy.” Map the full experience, then start.

I have to say there is something calming about Bluesky. Not in the service so much as the noise. The signal to noise ratio feels more manageable so much that you see @neilhimself.neilgaiman.com reply to fans. There’s a deep sense of community in that… a sense of relief. Of course it’s temporary.
