I don't know how difficult it is for U.S. physicians and nurses to get licensed in Canada, but we should be making it a whole lot easier. Right. Now.
Smart people will be looking to bail soon, and it won't have to be money that lures them over.
Allowing the government in power the ability to call an election at any time of their choosing is only one of the MAJOR flaws of our electoral system.
We need elections by fixed date OR by a majority vote on a motion from someone NOT in government.
Perhaps the purpose of life is to increase the quality of energy.
(In other words, to countervail entropy.)
This may even be a defining attribute.

The trick is to change what counts.
If we focus on and promote value systems that change society's definitions of success, then the required climate actions will be obvious, and we'll all strive to be winners in a better game.

So long as these are the rules of the game, those 'loser' actions will be resisted. It's all very well to intellectually reframe these actions as wins for humanity as a whole, but so long as we're still within the existing rules, you're still asking people and corps. to be losers where it counts.
