09.01.2025 02:42 β π 3 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Being a SoCal game dev heading into the new be like: living vicariously at my parentβs house wanting to resume work on my indie game but canβt cuz of the dreadful fear that it might be a financially-life threatening risk and also b/c of the wildfire rapidly approaching our house.
09.01.2025 02:42 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Posting it here cuz it seems like a good place to, it absolutely guts me to watch the newest People Make Games video, living in a country that hired a corner-cutting, abuse-enabling, inside-outsourcing businessman as president.

In the season of giving thanks, and being due to introduce w/ all these new friends, check out our upcoming game in early development called We Got Compagnie! π»πΆ
Hello! Iβd love to be added into to this pack as a junior game dev too!
24.11.2024 16:58 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0In any case, that's my thoughts on Mike v Paul.
You're awesome if you got this far.
Don't shut out the old people that matter in your life...
...they aren't all bad people, I swear. (13/?)
If not learning from your past means you're doomed to repeat it, why are we pushing to let the old die out? How can we say that we've learned when we're just letting our own past die and be pushed behind us, even when they themselves might be against a ton of things wrong with the world today?(12/?)
16.11.2024 10:43 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Yeah, just... the whole thing seemed and came off as a stunt to cause empowerment for the progressive youth at the expense of the amazing legacies and wisdom of our past, simply because they were part of the oppressive traditional ways of the past. (11/?)
16.11.2024 10:43 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Another gripe about this is Jake Paul took a higher stance, being the "better man" during his win acceptance interview...
...saying Tyson always will be a legend to all of us βeasier for him to say since he won, while my family decided to turn the TV off the moment the last round ended. (10/?)
And to be frank, we all aren't getting any younger. And 58 being considered as an old age when Mike Tyson has had some health issues post retirement does concern the hell outta me. (9/?)
16.11.2024 10:43 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Why? Because of his legacy, his story, and journey to becoming the youngest heavyweight champion in the world, and preserving that for over 40 years!
And to expect that same performance of him at 58 years old, and seeing him struggle significantly doesn't paint a good picture against ageism (8/?)
The legacy of amazing people in the past should not be confused and grouped with the tragedies in history caused by awful or even the same amazing people βor else we wouldn't have learnt anything at all.
I mean, Mike Tyson bit part of another boxer's ear off, but we still root for him!... (7/?)
Grouping all that's new to a progressive future and all that's old to doomed instances of repeated history is not how we should treat positive legacies of the past (6/?)
16.11.2024 10:43 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0...all felt so harmful, disrespectful, downright embarrassing for Tyson.
After all, the main narrative of the match-up was the new-age progressive and young influencers vs the old, traditional ways β boomers vs zoomers, letting the old man die/the-future-is-now-old-man sort of narrative (5/?).
...and progressive discussion against ageism.
I mean, it's not a good sign when my parents were getting sad to see Mike rarely throwing punches and seeing how slow they were whenever he did. Even hearing the commentator saying, "as clichΓ© as it is," in concerns to age slowing Tyson down... (4/?)
But at face value, it's boxing. The HUGE hype surrounding the fight, with Mike slapping Paul during the face off, AND the bloodied boxing matches w/ Barrios v Ramos and Serrano v Taylor, made the actual fight end up NOT being a good look for Netflix, the boxing community,... (3/?)
16.11.2024 10:43 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I will say that the legacy of Tyson's career coming off the results of the match was handled properly considering Tyson's current health and age. Both of them were professional, good sports, and I feel like both of them understood that Mike's health and reputation took priority mid-fight (2/?)
16.11.2024 10:43 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Just watched the Tyson v Paul fight with my parents, and although I love the respect and sportsmanship that ended up happening...
As a boxing event? My initial impressions are that it shouldn't have even happened in the first place... But despite that I think this needs a larger discussion. (1/?)
Also a lil more Nichijou trivia, the VAs for Sasahara and Annaka decided to get married in 2017, and Arawi Keiichi (the mangaka) went ahead and made a little comic of Sasahara asking Annaka to marry him.
...much to the shock of Mio and Misato, no less...π€£
Annaka playing the rigged carnival game was great too! π€£
I still am yet to get all the volumes of CITY to sit down and read through tho.
Looks like Hakase brought new friends!
My cousin from Europe bought me Yor and Loid Forger figurines a couple of weeks ago, and it matches so perfectly with my gacha-sized Anya figurine.
Loving how my mini figurine collection is turning out. #figurines #anime #spyxfamily #nichijou #moomin #kirby
Anyways, thanks for coming to my TedTalk. If you are also a fan of Nichijou, lemme know any other moments of the anime that you also felt must've been a blast to make! #NICHIJOU2ISREAL #animeCITY #NICHIJOU2 #CITY #Nichijou
08.11.2024 22:31 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0I'm so happy that Arawi Keiichi, the mangaka, was able to get another one of his works adapted into anime. For him and us Nichijou fans, it was indeed a long time coming. Considering he spent this past decade dabbling in animation, I'm BEYOND excited: youtu.be/tDPiLgmhUgE?...
08.11.2024 22:31 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0And to drive the point home of how much fun they must've had, there was a radio podcast hosted by the VAs of Sakamoto, Hakase, and Nano, talking and making jokes about the production of Nichijou with other VAs of the anime as guests: youtu.be/zeZAc7gaCIU?...
08.11.2024 22:31 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0There is also a collection of character songs that KyoAni has produced that has characters like Sakamoto, Hakase, and Nano singing their hearts out. Here's my favorite one sung by Shiraishi Minoru, the VA of Sakamoto: www.youtube.com/watch?v=dMtD...
08.11.2024 22:31 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Speaking of music, Nomi Yuuji, a composer renowned for working with Studio Ghibli on Whisper of the Heart and The Cat Returns was the main composer for Nichijou, writing over 100 bg tracks for Nichijou. I'm super excited to hear what CITY BG music will be. youtu.be/c_DTrv5ZVqY?...
08.11.2024 22:31 β π 0 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0Finally, my favorite scene of all time that I keep on my smartphone for safe keeping: the friendship voucher scene. The music is what does it for me. It's such a warm hug that tugs at your heart before the last goodbyes towards the end of an amazing series.
Simply beautiful.π₯Ήβ€οΈ
