Birth to 5 matters is such a great document and it’s wonderful to see the DFE actively sharing it and promoting its use.

The MP said that individuals would still need to be assessed “as having the capacity” and ensure “no one else has coerced them”, saying it is “a very delicate issue”.

She added: “I mean, there are people who have said to me – I think my mum would probably say this to me – ‘but surely being concerned about being a burden is a legitimate reason as well, in terms of…?’

“I know I wouldn’t want to be a burden to people, I can say that to you now in the clear light of day. But that’s very different to people saying, ‘I’m doing this because I feel like I’m being a burden’.”

Terribly irresponsible comments from Kim Leadbeater. Fearing being a burden is not a “legitimate reason” to seek an assisted death and the MP proposing the bill should not be musing whether it is. www.msn.com/en-gb/news/u...
