LSU is currently 13% Black. Louisiana's population is 30% Black.

7/ This isn't hyperbole. After the worst of the discriminatory requirements were rolled back, LSU briefly implemented "holistic admissions." The state pushed back-hard.

If LSU couldn't do it, no one could. There's nothing bigger in Louisiana than LSU.

4/ This is oversimplifying things I know, but weaponizing math SAT/ACT scores to keep out students is an extremely effective tool.

I saw it first hand in Louisiana after its higher ed deseg agreement expired. 85% of Black students were briefly inelig for public U admission in the Jindal admin.

3/ Back in the bad old days, there were 2 ways higher ed institutions kept out students they didn't want.

Straight up segregation, esp in the Jim Crow South.

Or entrance exams, which provided the veneer of merit.

And even now, there are racial gaps esp in math.

2/ What does "remedial math" (which hasn't been called that for almost 20 years, but okay...) have to do with anti-semitism?

Well, nothing.

But it is part of the regime's fight against DEI (aka civil rights) since they argue that equity is discriminatory.

Math is a proxy for merit. Let me unpack.

MSCHE's board meets this month (see the SAS) and this is a blatant attempt by the regime to tell MSCHE what to do.

6/ This action which involved 4 out of MSCHE's 7 standards included an evaluation visit. MSCHE gave Columbia 2 weeks to respond which is a very short turnaround time for them, but in that time period USED decided to claim noncompliance.

5/ Since no one, including IHE or McMahon, apparently is aware that the SAS exists, this is how accreditors publicly list the accreditation status of all their members.

4/ This is called a Supplemental Information Report (SIR) and if I am correct that this is what will happen, will show up on Columbia's Statement of Accreditation Status (SAS) page.

It wouldn't have been triggered by McMahon's screed but by the formal letter Columbia received from USED.

3/ MSCHE's President affirmed that they will "process these in accordance with our policies and procedures."

Meaning, due process.

Meaning, they will likely formally send Columbia a letter asking for information on relevant accreditation standards and give the university ADEQUATE TIME TO RESPOND.

2/ USED is asking MSCHE to take action because the regime "found" that Columbia violated Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

#NoDueProcess bc they laid off most OCR staff. They can't investigate. Just accuse.
