I've been suddenly inspired to finish writing my Trigun essay I started earlier this year and I just want to say, coming back to the sentence, "Lately it's been hard for me to be hopeful" 5 months after I originally wrote it and realizing you don't have to change it is definitely an Experience.

I am so compulsive about being on time, if I ever show up one minute late to a Zoom meeting, please know that's a major act of willpower and rebellion for me.

Not to put too fine of a point on this, but if I spent the last few months putting innocent people in concentration camps and the pope died basically three seconds after I met him, I would not continue life apace, I would not immediately clock back in at the fascism factory.

Smarter people than me have probably already said this but... why are we conflating femininity with humanity? I hope the quote is out of context, but still. Are you saying a woman is "more human" if she acts in a way that fits the expectations of her assigned gender?

(I don't mean to talk over you, just wanted to share my own experience too - but if you'd rather me delete my reply please just let me know!)

Part of that is probably bc I'm asexual, but having a body and brain that don't always work quite right is likely part of it too. Performing a feminine gender takes a lot of spoons that I need to use to function instead. And one of my symptoms is hyperandrogenism which is a whole other thing...

I never really thought about this, but now that I am, it aligns with some of my experiences too. I'm not blind, but I have other chronic conditions/disabilities, and even though I identify as a cis woman, I often feel out of place in more feminine spaces.

Soooo... I don't talk about this a lot but part of why I don't think abled people should play disabled people on film is because they don't understand what disability does to your gender. Cuz it's not nothing.

Bloggers from 2005-2015 are truly the backbone of the internet. I was trying to find more info about a Japanese rock band and Wikipedia didn't have much but a blog post from 2011 did.
