But in a for-profit system like ours in the US, the incentives work the opposite way. With the burden for paying on each of us, our poor health actually fuels healthcare profits, just as allowing corporate pollution fuels industrial profits. Profit-driven society isn’t society at all.

One thing about countries w/universal healthcare that isn’t often mentioned:
As a result of these govts funding healthcare, they’re incentivized to ensure clean water/air, proper vaccination schedules, healthy food, & more, because failures in these areas cost the govt a lot in healthcare costs.
