Offer hope to the disenfranchised and disengaged, but then unlike the populist right, deliver meaningful change that benefits them.

The image presents a comparison of the leading causes of death in the United States for 2023 and the media coverage these causes receive from three news outlets: The New York Times, The Washington Post, and Fox News.

In the footer, it notes the data sources, indicating that the information is based on media mentions from Media Cloud (2025) and death data from the US CDC (2025) and the Global Terrorism Index, with a clarification that values are normalized to sum to 100%.

Does the news reflect what we die from?

It would have been easy to do the homework on this because BOM report publicly on the accuracy of their forecasts every year.

There seems to be increasingly frenzied coercive activity to silence legitimate comment and questioning.
Maybe because that's all that's left to people who have lost all credibility in their denial & justification of the depraved behaviour of a cruel & vindictive rogue state.

Truth will win

There is no better analogy for working in government policy than the Apollo 13 scenes where they have a 30 second window to manually fire the engine to return safely to Earth. Especially as it comes after days of sitting shivering in the dark.

Albanese government worse than Morrison era at producing documents for public scrutiny, report finds Labor’s first term saw second-worst performance since 1993 in complying with Senate orders for documents, data shows

"...the number of FoI documents granted in full had fallen by more than half in just over a decade, from 59% in 2011-12 to 25% in 2023-24...the rate of outright refusals nearly doubled, from 12% to 23% during the same period." So much for transparency #auspol #FOI

"Australia is the 3rd biggest fossil fuel exporter in the world.

"Norway, which is also a big fossil fuel exporter, they tax their fossil fuel industry and give their kids free university education.

"In Aus, we subsidise the fossil fuel industry."

At 4C scientists predict 90% of the world’s population could die.

We’re on track to hit 4C within our childrens’ lifetimes.

7,000,000,000+ avoidable deaths.

Waiting for a journalist to ask a politician about this.

A send up of children’s ’ladybird’ books… a young guy with red hair parted on the side and wearing an orange jumper is leaning into the engine of a car with bonnet open and pointing at the engine. There’s text saying : β€˜This engine is woke’. The title of the book is β€˜Everything I don’t like is Woke β€” a book for basic dickheads.’

An imitation collector card, with the brand "Australian Liberal Party Lies". This is #6. The tagline is "Collect them all ... so you don't elect them all!"

The Lie section says: β€œRenewables are driving up power bills”.

The Facts section says:
β€œCoal and gas prices have DOUBLED, which pushed up wholesale and then retail electricity prices”.

A series of small bar charts illustrate changes in relevant data between 2020/21 and 2022/23/24, showing coal prices increasing 135%, gas prices 112%, wholesale electricity prices 104%, and the percentage of renewables having increased 30%. Retail prices are shown in a larger chart to have increased 24% from 2020/21/22 to 2023/24. An arrow links wholesale prices to retail prices with the label β€œLag”.

Footnotes refer to the sources of the data as AER, ABS, Open Electricity, YCharts and OFX.

Australia's perceived value to the US changes under Trump Experts say Australia matters less to Trump than it did to Biden which has consequences for vital intelligence-sharing alliance Five Eyes as well as the AUKUS deal.

White's assessment is blunt: "The sooner we cut our losses and get out of AUKUS the better, and if the Trump administration's scepticism offers a chance to do so, we should grab it."

Did you know Woodside’s North West Shelf gas export terminal has caused WA wholesale gas and electricity prices to triple?

That’s because in 2020 the WA Government let Woodside start exporting WA’s domestic gas reserves, exposing us to global prices.
