Happy Pride Month! 🏳️🌈
At AWI, we are committed to diversity and equality. Pride Month in June reminds us how important it is to strengthen an open and respectful society, both in science and in everyday life. We embrace diversity every day.

Paper alert! 🚨
Ever wondered how ENSO contributes to Marine Heat Waves #MHVs? In the study conducted in collaboration with PhD candidate Alessandro Gagliardi (@alexgag11.bsky.social), the authors isolated the effect of ENSO in driving SST variability, including MHV extremes!

For the first time, it was also possible to wear a rainbow lanyard to show support for the LGBTQ+ community, which I proudly wore throughout the week.
See you at #EGU26!
I attended #EGU25 for the first time. It was an amazing opportunity to meet researchers from all over the world and to connect with many different research communities. I presented a poster and received a lot of constructive feedback and ideas for future work.

The program included lectures on the geophysical principles of echosounding, hands-on training in data acquisition, storage, and visualization using QGIS.
It was an incredible seagoing experience, and I am deeply grateful to AWI and POLMAR for making this possible!
I have just returned from one of my dream experiences: being at sea on a research vessel! I traveled from Bremerhaven to the Canary Islands aboard the icebreaker Polarstern during expedition PS145/1, where I participated in the Echosounding Training Cruise organized by POLMAR.
