✔️The Senate version of the bill requires school districts to check the citizenship status of all enrollees. This additional task will increase administrative COSTs in our school districts. Plus, I’m concerned how this info will be used.

I am writing today to ask you to vote against SB 0836. I know you voted for this bill as a member of the Education Committee. But you need to know you have constituents who are strongly opposed to this bill.

The TN Senate will vote Thursday, April 10th at 8:30am CT on Senate Bill SB 0836. This bill will allow school districts to decline to provide an education to immigrant students who are here without documents. Education is a cornerstone of opportunity. Every child deserves the right to learn.
