This Is NOT Business As Usual

But just as quickly as they started, they stopped.Back to business as usual.

We talk a lot about corporations backtracking on their DEI commitments.

We should also talk about church leaders backsliding on racial justice.

Reflecting sadly on the fact that in 2020 lots of pastors didn’t get woke, they got interrupted.

For a brief moment it seemed like all the world was talking about racism.

These pastors got swept up in the furor and began gesturing toward justice.

"Conservative" is not the word. It's "extremism"--and a host of other words.

But there is nothing conservative about what this regime is doing.

Their project is not conservative, it's regressive.

They don't want to conserve, they want to destroy.

It is abundantly clear (and has been for a while) that many people of faith do not know the difference between Christianity and white Christian nationalism.

They practice the latter but mistake it for the former.

PSA: When you share clips of Black people echoing racist talking points, that doesn’t make the ideas less racist. Putting a Black face on white supremacy doesn’t change what it is.

The CBC is reminding us that condemning violence without confronting racist ideology is hollow.

And that honoring someone who denied systemic racism, mocked Black leaders, and pushed white nationalist conspiracy theories isn’t about healing, it’s actually about creating a martyr out of a myth.

It’s a window into the chasm between how Black and white Americans view race.

For too many white people, racism is still not a dealbreaker. They’ll denounce (some) violence but protect the worldview that fuels it.

The Congressional Black Caucus released a statement following the Charlie Kirk Resolution.

Only it’s not just a statement…

Seeing so many white Christians defend Charlie Kirk while ignoring, minimizing, and dismissing the concerns of so many Black Christians is exactly what compromise and complicity look like today.

Been sounding the alarm about his dictatorial tendencies. Worst part is some people really do think it would be better.

House Oversight's Robert Garcia says the "overwhelming majority" of the 33,000 pages of Epstein materials received from DOJ was previously-disclosed information.

"DOJ's limited disclosure raises more questions than answers and makes clear that the White House is not interested in justice."

Unfortunately, Bluesky is unavailable in Mississippi right now, due to a new state law that requires age verification for all users.

While intended for child safety, we think this law poses broader challenges & creates significant barriers that limit free speech & harm smaller platforms like ours.

The president wants us to focus on anything but the economic debacle and the Epstein files.

Black women are being used as test subjects for the limits of abuse of power. I want people to not ignore this since this always happens and then when the abuse arrives at people's doorstep, they're surprised.
