Serious question, what is constitutionality of Trump acting without apparent Congressional approval?

@smerconish.bsky.social good topic today but asking Econ prof @Princeton if he was able to get students to go into blue collar businesses seemed a little tone deaf. Most don’t go to Princeton to be trades workers. Also no stats on how many new entrepreneurs fail the first, second or third time.

(Retired MD here) It’s a slippery slope. Do we then withhold health care for any illness associated with what we deem is “risky” behavior? How about alocoholism? STIs? Etc.. this is a tough one

And to think they fired thousands of federal workers who never made so many mistakes like this. I’m so sick of these people.

Between this and closing Dept of Ed, how is Congress allowing the theft of their power ? They are being emasculated by these two… while I do think there are a few who really don’t mind, I just can’t believe it’s the majority of Republicans. With Dems we can stop this!!!

2 lies I hear from the right about the federal government:

"The federal government has gotten so bloated!"

The federal government is the same size it was when Kennedy was president.

"Reagan was the last president to cut the federal government!"

There were MORE fed employees when he left office.

How does all those sycophants in the audience not realize he is taking away their power by ruling with EO’s, Rubio using “emergency” funding rules and Musk taking a buzz saw to governemt programs they authorized???

Recipients must be residents of the state in which they receive Medicaid and must be citizens of the US or lawful permanent residents.

Facts:
2023: 85million enrollees and cost $870 billion (federal and state costs). Average cost per enrollee of $7600. 37% of enrollees were children but only accounted for 15% of spending ($3000 per child). Seniors and disabled adults accounted for 21% of spending (>$18,000 per person)

Serious question: do you believe Medicaid which provides healthcare insurance for those living up to 133% of poverty level or those with certain disabilites, in a federal/state shared program, is a beneficial program? Do you think it should be maintained, cut, dissolved? How would you change it?

Zalenskyy could offer a peacemaking statement like “we all lost our temper” but short of a “Oh I’m so so so sorry”, it won’t hold water for Trump.

Vance started it and Zalenskyy took the bait. Sad but true.. and then Trump got irate and tried to bully a sitting President of a sovereign nation. It was an overall clusterf*.

I thought all federal employees had to return to the office for work?

Guess we are seeing exactly how to run our government like a business… by a person with multiple bankruptcies, questionable hiring practices, accusations of fraud… and did I mention he’s a FELON?
