I used my 3D printer to create educational anatomical models of the brains of fish, frog, & lizard 🐟🐸🦎 The (color-blind friendly) colors demonstrate anatomical regions, and the 🧠 are many times larger than their real size. They can be removed from their stands for closer examination/comparison 🧪

4000 arthropod specimens from @mnhn.fr are being digitized using synchrotron microCT at @esrf.fr , with a high-throughput pipeline developed for #e-COL+.

- 362 types scanned
- including 130 holotypes
- spread across 11 orders and 86 families of fish
ScanAllTypes: 362 fish types digitized in 3D, thanks to the operators (👋 @m0neverest.bsky.social , @morganproust.bsky.social et K. Leblanc) and to the ichthyology collection team.
A unique expertise in X-ray tomography, to preserve and share the @mnhn.fr's heritage.

CT scanning is like a box of chocolates!
For this Salamandra terrestris (MNHN-RA-1978-0538) from the @mnhn.fr collections, scanned as part of the #e-COL+ project, we got :
- the specimen
- Its last meal (an insect)
- Eggs,
- Tiny fetuses as a bonus!

Après la préparation ostéologique de l'orque de la Seine, chaque os a été numérisé par l'équipe #e-COL+.
Cela a permis à l'équipe du @cr2p.bsky.social de remonter le squelette virtuellement.
