Here is a sneak peak of my newest project! I recently discovered a new technique for tapestry crochet projects that result in a crisp detailed pixal art image using the bobble stitch. It took so many tries before I finally figured out what I was doing 😂

Part 6 of my wool processing journey! I finally got around to #spinning my wool last night. This amount is about 2 rolags worth. With 25 altogether, I will get a good bit of yarn out of this 😁 Still practicing the consistency in the drafting thickness but I'm starting to get the hang of it. #wool

Clumps of wool before picking all the debris out.

A chunk of wool after picking all the debris out. It has a fluffier texture, like pillow batting.

A large mesh bag that contains a whole baking trays worth of wool that had been broken down into a smoother and more workable state.

A large foil lasagne pan containing all the plant matter and dust that was distributed throughout the wool before processing it. Some of the wool fibers are there too, but they could not be separated from the debris, so it had to be sacrificed.

Part 4 of my wool processing journey! I took 1 of 3 trays of wool and picked the smaller pieces of debris out while also breaking the clumps down into fibers. The 1st pic is what the clump looks like before picking, the 2nd one is after. The process took about 50 min to complete a tray.

A large black bucket filled with unprocessed white wool.

A large white bucket filled with cool water. The raw wool is placed in a mesh bag before being submerged into the water and left to soak overnight to help break up dirt.

A small white bucket filled with hot soapy water. Raw wool inside a mesh bag is placed in the water for 30 minutes to lift the lanolin, dirt, and vegetable matter from the wool. The wool I have was very dirty, so I had to complete 3 washes to finally see a colour difference.

Raw wool that was set aside to prime the hand carding brushes. This wool was presoaked overnight and then left to dry on a baking rack.
