I need everyone who sees this to keep a look out for the following shawls. They were lost by FedEx on the way to Barcelona Knits, and have been declared "unrecoverable".

You probably have no idea what I’m painting here. It looks weird. But eventually, it will be an awesome representation of how we combine telescope data to better understand the universe!

Gilded bronze snake bracelet, with curved snake head terminals at either end. The body of the coiled bracelet is made of two medium thick wires of bronze twisted about one another. There’s a feather or vegetal pattern on the backs of the snake head terminals, reminiscent of the ‘agathadaemon’ snakes, which brought luck and fertility. Chips of gilding have worn off to reveal the dark bronze beneath.

They say ‘fake it ’til you make it’, which might have proved embarrassing to the woman who once wore this snake bracelet, if the gilding chipped off at a party … to reveal the bronze beneath. Discount luxury, same as it ever was. 🏺 1/

I got some pictures of my Ravenwood Dragon Cloak in daylight, although not ideal pics of me necessarily. I'm very happy that I added the extra repeats, as I like the fit.

here's how I made these guys (and you can too!), starting with supplies. you'll need:

• reasonably sturdy paper (think cardstock)
• non-woven fabric, like felt
• sashiko or embroidery thread (multiple colors)
• an embroidery needle
• stuffing (I use textile scraps)
• twine or cord (for hanging)

#SewAndTell Repair week is timely - this morning I heard an awful rip when I put on my coat, the armpit seam popped! The fabric was undamaged so it was just a matter of ladder stitching the seam shut again. I used this vintage synthetic silk doubled for extra strength.

Thank you! I did find it a challenge but it was my first time doing anything with such complicated shaping, but I am a sucker for her dramatic sleeves even if knitting them takes forever!

Montmartre Jumper, inspired by Victorian cycling jumpers is tight fitting in the body, wide ribbing at the waist, crew neckline with big voluminous puffed sleeves with long cuffs. My version has purple neckline, cuffs and waist ribbing with the main body and sleeves knit with alternating black and red/white/black yarn stripes.
