I will always be impressed by the logical contortions required to argue that puberty blockers are too irreversible to be allowed, but that it is somehow perfectly fine to force a child to go through a deeply distressing and far more irreversible endogenous puberty.

This whole thread! I think about this often with the books I read. I do read on purpose, books I think will be relevant to a sermon or a project, but often the most helpful will be some fiction I happened to pick up. Or observing someone at the grocery store. Or come to me while mowing the lawn.

Yeah well being a preacher is a choice you made. Do it or abdicate. That part of the call is way too important AND NUANCED to outsource to a robot. For God's Holy sake. You are already throwing in the towel if you do it.

If you are a clergy person and you cannot write a sermon without AI, you shouldn't be doing what you're doing.
You do not have to be an amazing writer. Accept yourself as middling to bad at it if you are. You certainly aren't going to get better at it using AI.

Not long ago, we had a conversation in a staff meeting about drafting a policy about using it for sermons. All of us basically agreed not to do it. I came out strong. I still do. I'm just gonna say it:

Yes I have used AI, very minimally.
I have been working on several fiction pieces, and I have used a random generator to come up with names of businesses and a couple of image generators to give me pictures of characters when I want to get a clearer picture in my head of what they might look like.

I had to stop with the wearable for this exact reason, and even the pedometer on my phone is a bit much because NONE of the ones I found were just about walking, they all included weight and calorie-counting shit.
