Once upon a time I owned four telescopes. I recently sold two bigger ones that hardly ever got used, ordering a SeeStar S30 smart scope. North Dakota House passes bill to adopt standard time House Bill 1259 would eliminate daylight saving time in North Dakota, instead having the state observe standard time year-round.

The North Dakota House has passed HB 1259, which would move the state to follow permanent *standard* time. The bill moves to the Senate. Our circadian rhythms would appreciate the bills passage.

October turned up the U.S. burners – and turned off the tap » Yale Climate Connections New York and Philadelphia saw their driest month ever in official data, and autumn so far is the warmest in 48-state history.

Two data points to ponder:

—Cities from NYC to Wilmington just got the driest month in their 130- to 150-year weather histories.

—The U.S. is having its warmest autumn on record by far. The past 2 mos are nearly 1F above any other Sep-Oct on record.
