British patriots - last year, the UK's railway brought in Β£25.4 billion, up 5.7% year-on-year.

Good news for British companies, right?

Well, the Overgrond, Chiltern, CrossCountry, & Grand Central are operated by Arriva.

Wholly owned by the American 'I Squared Capital'...

Awful. After Avanti train cancelled. Had horrific experience on crosscountry with brawl and transport police involved. Never again if I can help it.

Overseas-trained doctors leaving the UK in record numbers Medical bodies warn that hostility towards migrants is behind a 26% rise in departures last year that imperils NHS

Overseas-trained doctors leaving the UK in record numbers.

Direct result of racism and insecurity unleashed by major political parties.

Not enough home trained doctors. Takes years and high debt to become a doctor.

A healthcare crisis in the making.

Sounds like a nightmare. At minimum, all fares should be refunded and complaints should be filed about the lack of staffing.

Cross Country trains are grim and crowded at the best of times but this sounds even more awful than usual (although they have some lovely train managers)

Luckily yes. Was scared for a moment. One young uni student said she had a chap asking her if he could take her home. Another couple had drunk chap vaping on the train. Next to me young boy knocked into by drunk man and mum started screaming at him. Awful. Transport police asked me to complain.

Horrific train journey. Edinburgh NW coast to London cancelled.
All crammed on Plymouth Cross Country.
Increasingly drunk offensive men and people rammed on train. One toilet broken. No visible staff.
Fight broke out when stopped but no doors opened at Doncaster.
BTPolice say no working CCTV.

There is so much to be distressed about right nowβ€”so let’s just take a moment to feel some pure unalloyed joy as we remember this absolute queen who called in sick so she could catch the Taylor Swift show. Major respect.
