Two Paleozoo keepers prepare a group of small, feathered dinosaurs for an educational showcase for guests. One gracefully is landing on the glove of its trainer. Another, sitting patiently. The last is attempting to nibble the hair of its trainer.

Ambassador animals provide opportunities for our guests to create deep, memorable connections to the natural world.

I am trying to take public transportation more instead of driving. I am trying to eliminate my spending at Walmart and Amazon entirely. I am trying to use less plastic. I am trying to eat less meat and never get fast food. These tiny acts of resistance add up. I recommend you all try to do the same.

My phoenix 'sona was always fiery colors before this, but a few years ago I decided fuck it, I didn't have to make sense, and molted into green plumage! Green has always been my favorite color, so this was sort of a prototype.

Some behind the scenes on this piece. I first got inspiration during a visit to the Field Museum in Chicago with @doodlize.bsky.social while we were there for C2E2. Seeing the giant paintings of Charles Knight that permeated my childhood really inspired me to redraw one of them that day.
