I'm hoping the references to soul being trapped it the book clues them to the fact that killing him would end badly.

If they don't put it together on their own I'll give them Arcana or Religion rolls for a chance of the characters figuring it out.

Luckily he has discussed this with the Cobalt Soul Expositor and the Expositor has gotten to wait, he is waiting on research from the Cobalt Soul. The same day the Wizard makes (or fails) his next save is the day that the big data drop arrives.

Only problem is for Raise Dead to work the creature's soul must be both willing and at liberty. The Wizard is already linked to the book (2 failed saves out of 5 to total corruption) and if he dies right now his soul goes into the book, with the 84 others that are trapped there.

The Dragonborn Eldritch Knight has a plan to "save" him from the book.

His plan involves beating the Wizard to death with his flametongue Greatsword and then once the book thinks the Wizard is dead, have him brought back to life with a Raise Dead.

#ttrpg #DnD My Tal'Dorei game has gotten to an interesting place. The Wizard is being corrupted by a artifact level sentient book of necromancy. I keep giving the players notes on what their characters notice but they have yet to discuss it with each other for the most part.

This summer I have really hit my stride again. I'm moving and fighting better than I ever had.

2017 my hips started to get really bad, I needed a cane to walk, then two or a rollator. I was fighting once a year at the barrier to maintain my authorization.

Got the first hip replacement mid-2021, second Dec 2023. I've been back to fighting since 2022.

I was first Baronial Champion for my Barony 31 years ago and my first time as an Unbelted Champion was 24 years ago at Pennsic XXX. I had served as both many times over the years since.
