Our members have shared their wishes, they have asked for books and stationery that will help them learn, explore, and dream bigger.

Today, one of our youngest members picked up a book and read aloud to everyone, simply because she had seen the older members do it before. This is what makes community libraries magical: they are living spaces where children observe, absorb, and pass on inspiration to each other.

Community Libraries remind us that education isn’t confined to classrooms, it blossoms in community, in togetherness, and in the quiet power of shared spaces.

At library, something beautiful is happening. Young members, especially aged 8 and above are falling in love with science. They’re full of questions, ideas, & dreams. On their request, we organised a fun little Science Experiment Workshop. For many, it was their first time seeing science come alive.

On this #InternationalDayOfPlay, we celebrate the joy, imagination, and learning that play brings into a child’s life. Our Toy Library & dedicated Play Curriculum ensure that children not only read, but also explore, build, create, and grow. Because play is not a break from learning, it is learning.

Summer Camp Workshops Update
We had our English Writing Workshop series with an exciting first session led by Patrichia. The focus was on introducing the basics of writing in English, and our members responded with great enthusiasm and curiosity.

It was heartening to see everyone so engaged, asking questions, and eager to learn. We’re already looking forward to the next session, She brings such warmth and clarity to her teaching, and we can’t wait to see how our members continue to grow as young writers under her guidance!

Monthly Movie Screening Update
We recently screened the short film "Juice" with 13 to 16-year-old girls. Juice is a film heavy with truth and layered with beauty, it tells the story of everyday patriarchy playing out in middle-class Indian households.

Words that help us belong—how grassroots libraries are shaping lives, from Assam to Karnataka Often funded by community efforts or meagre govt funds, these spaces are breaking caste and gender barriers, empowering first-generation learners and preserving indigenous knowledge.

We kicked off our Summer Camp with the coolest start: an Ice-Cream Party! Laughter, excitement, and melting sticks set the tone for the joyful days ahead. This summer, we’ve lined up a variety of fun, creative workshops and engaging classes for our members.

It's always a highlight at Bansa Library to see our young members organizing their own read-aloud sessions. In Bansa village, which previously had no libraries and no established reading culture, these daily scenes of literary engagement are truly transformative. 1/2

Why should we let geography become a barrier to knowledge in this digital age? With our growing virtual infrastructure, any member of our library, can now request a class, workshop, or mentorship session. We’ll make it happen!
