However you view the government shutdown, POTUS has the power to alleviate suffering of families who cannot afford to eat, and he chose not to. He chose cruelty. And the partial funding of SNAP that is there is only because a court ordered it.

This is a time when large employers need to push on the government. They don’t even have to do it in moral/ethical/humanitarian grounds. It is in their own self interest to not have all their employees out sick throughout next winter.

Probably figures this will disproportionality affect blue states when people start dying (I’ll guess higher vaccine rates) so a net win for trump.
