In my work, democracy isn’t a regime type. It’s the set of conditions that let a society check what’s true, argue about it, and hold power to account. When that system breaks, the label on the regime stops telling you anything useful.

AP is privately owned. Plus, the curriculum is very memorization heavy (not as big a deal in math, obviously) and can distort educational incentives. But your point is well-taken. Both my children took APs; they did well but I have mixed feelings about them because the curriculum was so rote.

Many issues, but I guess what I would say is that the ones who externalized their problems to the school were interesting to teach but also they were SAVVY. In a way they were better off than the kids who internalized it and sank into depression, even though they got more negative attention.

Well, opposition politicians can help them do the math, but I think most people will be aware that they have paid some money out in the form of inflation and received some money back. They will likely think it is equivalent. Many will blame Biden for not having paid them back for inflation.
