i went through my art to find something romantic to post for valentine’s day, and all i found was this drawing of me and pinky

if you’re not too familiar with digital art, then ibis paint is free & very straightforward. once i had a better grasp of drawing digitally, i moved over to CSP. it’s harder to learn, but it’s much better for complex artworks like digital paintings, comics, etc.

i think if there’s any silver lining to this, it’s that (anecdotally), more kids/teens are into indie games than adults are. child-friendly indie games came out consistently throughout their childhoods. it’s one of the reasons why deltarune’s biggest fans are older kids and teenagers.

i have spent literally half of my life hyping up prismacolor colored pencils, but i haven’t convinced a single person to actually use them -__-

The title them to "Alien" on the C64 is so hauntingly cool [ CW: flashing lights ]

honestly it only took about an hour! i use prismacolors, which are very vibrant and smooth compared to other colored pencils, so i can cover a lot of space with them relatively quickly.

also, i’m going to draw an ys-style border on another sheet of paper and try editing it in digitally. i think that would push the storybook feeling this drawing has.

colored pencil drawing of adol and feena dancing. i used different bright shades of red, blue, and purple, which my phone camera is having trouble capturing. the drawing is basically done at this point - i’ll write a better description once i post the final version.

i’ve gone from “whatever, it’s fine” to “you know what, it IS fine.” using one colored pencil to fill in the background was funny. my phone is struggling to capture all the colors correctly.

i’m now in the critical drawing stage called “whatever, it’s fine.” this is when every time i stare at my drawing, i get pissed off, then say “whatever, it’s fine” and walk away. i scribbled over parts digitally to remind myself what i need to change later lol
