With a new U01 grant from the NIH, Pitt researchers Drs. Robert Binder, Amitava Mukherjee, and Joel Greenberger are investigating whether targeting a protein called Fgr can restore blood production after radiation exposure, which wipes out blood-generating stem cells in the bone marrow.
