If this particular government had been around in the 80's and 90's the women protesting at Greenham Common would have been declared terrorists.

She's my kind of gal!
I was going down the road to 'cystery'... but, perhaps, not.
04.02.2026 08:06 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0So having a great time. Wish you were here.
02.02.2026 13:55 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 1But π΅πΆ Marina, aqua marina π΅πΆ was a pretty weird song for the end credits.
And is it just me but doesn't she look a bit like Melania Trump... (and made of wood).
A fine movie... but, as is generally the case, the book is better (Umberto Eco).
02.02.2026 13:35 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Yup...
That'll deal with that fallout bacteria π¬
Had a medley of Dave Brubeck/Paul Desmond today and although it stayed dull outside it felt like the sun had come out...
01.02.2026 20:20 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Good luck there... though as good as the book is you might want something a little lighter/less anger inducing/ restorative in reserve maybe.
Again, good luck and get better soon.
Which is a little annoying as Jeeves, my baker and general skivvy, is holidaying in The Isle of Wight this week... unpaid leave of course.
01.02.2026 13:58 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0As time moves along I am reminded of the moment in I Claudius when Emperor Augustus (Brian Blessed) screams "IS THERE ANYONE IN ROME WHO HAS NOT SLEPT WITH MY DAUGHTER".
It seems that all of the world's 'great and good' have had dealings with that loathsome shitpile.
YES! Valentine's Day sorted.
Thanks.
Whoa.....!
Reminds me of moments in the movie 'Dark City' when the cityscape is transfigured.
A Bramley cooking apple. All Bramley cooking apple trees are clones of a single tree in Nottinghamshire, England.
31.01.2026 17:28 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0An interesting fact...
Errm... Possibly an interesting fact.
Almost all Bramley Apple trees (in the entire world mind) are clones descended from a single apple tree planted in Southwell, Nottinghamshire (England) in 1809.
I use Bramleys all the time for cooking which is why I find this interesting.
Plus the couple under the desk keeping the tyrant happy...
They'll have the spotted red ties on the way out.
Now THAT is weather...
30.01.2026 12:55 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It's okay... Went to see my GP yesterday and my blood pressure isn't as high as I feared.π¬

Does the beard ever freeze from the moisture from your breath? I remember it happening a couple of times in my 20's when the weather dipped below (a lame) -8Β°C. I don't think I've ever experienced -17Β°C.
My deepest, deepest respects. ππ»
I'm sure you know but, to give the image some context, the walls on the right of the image have many thousands of bits of broken bottles cemented in the walls... hence the name.
Nice shot.
Was there a sudden shock?
A complete cutie...
In a hole, in the dark... WITH AN OWL!
27.01.2026 17:17 β π 6 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Reminds me to buy some Tom Waits vinyl.
Own lots of his stuff digitally but no actual records.
We (my partner and I) are trying to keep Sunday Vinyl going by buying appropriate music for the record player (pre 80's and any jazz)... we started recently. I think Blue Valentine would be perfect.
Absolutely... not a country fan but DP is the best of us - 'us' being The Human Race.
25.01.2026 18:12 β π 8 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A view across the front room. Table supporting record player playing Ben Webster & Joe Zawinul. Curtain on left frame. Freshly cleaned Simon and Garfunkel LP. My partner's slippered feet (bottom left hand corner); she is doing some sowing (out of frame). Background: corner of room with shelves supporting odds and sods.
Loving this Sunday afternoon. Listening to a newly acquired double Jazz LP (see ALT). Cleaning discs, making two loaves of wholemeal bread and later goulash for myself, my partner, her daughter and her daughter's partner.
Joy can arise out of the blue (despite the crap occurring elsewhere). Peace.
I'm not going where...
So pleased I'm not in The Other Place π¬
My dad referred to people that couldn't be arsed to actively seek out the truth as 'mushrooms'... i.e. kept in the dark and shovelled shit. I fear many Americans as well as many British fall into this category, those that are surprised when their rights and freedoms have been taken from them.
