An amazing opportunity to work with a rising star in the field!
23.09.2025 16:56 β π 2 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Well in short it seems that it does not, even when accounting for relationship quality. Results for future expectations offer a potentially brighter picture. What buffers loneliness for asexuals? Weβre speculating, but maybe platonic queer friendships. Check out the preprint! osf.io/preprints/os...
03.08.2025 11:22 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Was a pleasure to see @zoppolat.bsky.social once again present our work testing whether romantic relationship involvement buffers loneliness for asexuals as it has been shown to do for heterosexuals and other sexual minorities at the IARR mini conference in London. Curious about the results?β¦

Exciting news: the TIDE study, my study about premenstrual exacerbation (PME) of depression, has started!
In the coming year, we aim to include 60 participants with depression and a regular menstrual cycle to examine the prevalence and trajectories of PME in depression. ππ©πΌβπ«

We (a group of Dutch researchers) wrote an opinion article calling to protect academic freedom and research on sex and gender. The article was co-signed by over 300 academics, healthcare professionals and stakeholders, and it was published in a national newspaper (de Volkskrant) today!

04.02.2025 12:33 β π 5 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Do women or men experience more loneliness? Is this even how we should think about #gender and #loneliness? In a new piece w/ Manuela Barreto & Marlies Maes we take stock of the field and point toward new ways of thinking about gender and loneliness. nyaspubs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/...

29.12.2024 23:14 β π 5 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Often studies included psych functioning, qual of life, and other measures related to GAMT but not necessarily direct targets of care. Even assessment of gender dysphoria/incongruence, a potentially obvious target, was inconsistent. There is need for community-involved work to help direct research.
27.12.2024 16:54 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Skye and Ezra did an admirable job summarizing and examining measures and outcomes in the adolescent chapter of WPATH standards of care. Qual analysis revealed themes related to implicit narratives of βimprovementβ to justify GAMT for adolescents.
