Rogie Falls, near Inverness, is a much better (and bigger) place to see them, if that is your thing. It's really gorgeous to visit any time of the year with or without the salmon.

Falls of Feugh

It's at least three weeks too early for salmon so I was surprised and very pleased to see one (I'm presuming it was the same one). Huge thanks to the German couple who pointed out to me they had seen one and we then kept a look-out together 🙂

Cruddy cropped video still from yesterday filmed from a long distance away but proof of leaping salmon! First time I've seen one. Saw one try and jump at least three times and I think a fourth time after it had made some progress. Only captured it the once though.

Thank you! It turned out that full-time job was quite different to the other one of applied for with them and not something I would ever had applied for myself (or wanted) so I'm good with how things worked out.

I emptied the recycling bin, P. On my phone. It's not good...

Running out of space on my phone so deleted files and the recycling bin only to release if also deleted the video of a leaping salmon I took too. I kept the wrong file 😭 So upset as that was the only one I captured too.

Off to the edges of the Cairngorms today making the most of being out of work and the dry weather before I start my new, alas temporary, job. Even though it's the school holidays, it's still very quiet out there!
