I work for a European company, and absolutely nobody is talking about it there either. People have to know. It's almost creepy. I've even caught myself reflexively cutting small talk in meetings and getting right down to business. Because I'm afraid I'll get in trouble if the convo goes there.

Is it that people don't know? Or is it that they're afraid to speak publicly because politics have become such a conversational taboo in American culture, particularly at the workplace? And/or they're scared because no one's really sure who they can trust?
