A friend remarked on how unappetizing the word "mushy" in mushy peas and thinks we should do away with it. I took it to the opposite extreme and proposed we use it more: mushy potatoes, mushy corn, mushy oats, mushy chickpeas, mushy avocado, mushy apples, mushy beans...
