Thrilled to share my new commentary 'The Interface Mind' in Philosophical Psychology—symposium on Nick Shea's *Concepts at the Interface*! Concepts as interfaces bridging general reasoning & specialized sims solve integration puzzles (e.g., Nanay's imagery). Advances computational mind theories! 1/2

Donald Trump is ripping away America’s role as a world leader in science and innovation.

Cuts to health care breakthroughs.
Cuts to tech development.
Cuts to energy research.

How is this America first?

I try to think as little as possible about X. But man, I gotta say, it is rather disappointing that corporations and universities continue to use a platform that is being explicitly engineered to spread racist propaganda. Like, why did your ancestors bother evolving a backbone if you won't use it?

3/4: How can systems detect error? Not through action failure alone! Inconsistency detection (via info-redundancy) is cognition’s "immune system". It proxies falsity before outcomes—solving Bickhard’s access problem.

2/4: Burge was right: Evolution optimizes fitness, not truth (placebos, adaptive biases). But truth isn’t optional! I show how alethic normativity emerges when bounded rationality negotiates accuracy, speed & cost in Tinbergen’s functional web.

1/4: NEW PAPER ALERT! I bridge Mark Bickhard’s interactivism with truth debates. Key insight: Truth ≠ evolutionary byproduct. It’s the outcome of problem-solving under biological constraints. A tribute to Bickhard’s overlooked work. link.springer.com/article/10.1...

CNN’s Jason Carroll was zip-tied and escorted away—for reporting the news. But they claimed he wasn’t under arrest?

Why are they shooting rubber bullets at and silencing journalists? We still have a First Amendment.

RFK Jr. ousts entire CDC vaccine advisory committee Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has removed every member of a scientific committee that advises the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on how to use vaccines.

RFK Jr.‘s extreme anti-vax views — and his related conflicts of interest — were a huge problem during his confirmation process.

So he promised not to change the vaccine advisory panel.

Today, he fired every single expert on that panel. It's a public health disaster.

Setting aside the fact that the government is acting in bad faith, there are two things metascientists should be doing now:
1. Reflection on what they could have done to prevent this misappropriation instead of shrugging it off with a "they'd do it anyway"
2. Finding a firm stance on what to do next

Exactly! Pitt & McCulloch first had the idea of how to have a neural network of logical gates, and then from neuroscience, von Neumann took it to produce a digital computer.
