I'll need reading glasses or bifocal/ varifocals. Which I needed pre surgery, just for different reasons. TBH in retrospect I'd rather they'd just got rid of the cataracts but left my focal abilities exactly as they were.

The idea that we would grant people asylum, and then rescind it after potentially decades, seems to me both unworkable and inhumane.

Corporation tax, as a friend in the Inland Revenue ( as was) used to say, is a tax designed to be avoided.

NHS Cataract surgery update. I now have 2 operated eyes, 1 toric ,1 not. They wouldn't do 2 toric because one eye was not astigmatic enough. Second non toric surgery not great & still blurry1/2 .

Well the female boxers will be able to avoid being smashed in the face by blokes, so there's that.

The panellists include this individual Saorsa-Amatheia Tweedale ( aka Mark Tweedale) who says he's a lesbian. He was recently in the news for wearing fetish gear to the office. He works across the civil service.

I worked in tax. Supreme Court rulings in tax or any matter of law, as Jolyon Maugham once said but seems to have forgotten, are binding. l'd have been thrown out of my professional body if I'd told a client to ignore one. So this is the UK Govt advocating breaking UK law. Unprecedented I think.

Well exactly. It's nonsense. Very good take down of it by SexMatters on X. But it shows that Labour are simply not up to withstanding the Trans lobby inside their own party never mind outside it.

Despite Keir Starmer's assurances last week, *this* week Bridget Phillipson has instructed lawyers to argue in Court that some men should be allowed in women's single sex spaces on a case by case basis, in direct contravention of the Supreme Court ruling. archive.ph/y4yW7 Labour can't be trusted
