♟️DAILY CHESS PUZZLE: SOLUTION♟️

Black wins with a powerful 1...Nh4!(D), threatening Qg2#:
- 2.Ne3 Nf3#
- 2.gxh4 Qg4+ wins the d1-rook for Black

Instead, Carlsen played 1...Nf4?, allowing 2.Ne3!=, but Gukesh, being low on time, resigned anyway.

I have good and bad news for you.
Good: You are playing like Carlsen!
Bad: This move lets the win slip.

♟️DAILY CHESS PUZZLE: SOLUTION♟️

White will be worse once Black wins the d6-pawn, hence White played 1.Nd4!(D):
- 1...Qxd6 2.Nf5! and after 2...Qxd3 3.cxd3, White is better
- 1...exd4 2.exd4 followed by 3.e5! gives White massive central pawns as compensation

♟️DAILY CHESS PUZZLE: SOLUTION♟️

As Tartakower once said: "No game was ever won by resigning".

Black is actually winning after 1...Kxe8 2.Bg6 Rf2+!!(D), and after 3.Kxf2 Ne4+ (fork!) 4.Bxe4 Qxf6 Black ends up with an extra queen.

♟️DAILY CHESS PUZZLE: SOLUTION♟️

White can go for a direct kingside attack:
1.Bxf6! Bxf6 2.h4!(D) followed by g4-g5, exploiting the h6-pawn hook.

Nihal won a nice attacking game from here!

That is definitely possible. However, there is an even stronger plan!

♟️DAILY CHESS PUZZLE: SOLUTION♟️

Black wins with a sudden endgame tactic:
1...Nc5+!(D) — if 2.bxc5, then 2...Kxa5 wins the rook.

Otherwise, 2.Kd3 Ne4 follows, and Black wins material.

♟️DAILY CHESS PUZZLE: SOLUTION♟️

Black found a brilliant way to activate the rook:
1...Ra5!(D) — attacking d5 and preparing …Rb5 to hit b2.

The game went 2.Rd1 Rb5 and now 3.Rd2 is met by a fantastic 3...Rb3!! 4.axb3 Qxe3+ 5.Kf1 Bb5+ with a checkmate soon!

♟️DAILY CHESS PUZZLE: SOLUTION♟️

Fedoseev played the strong thematic 1.Nh4!(D), rerouting the knight to f5 — a classic idea in e4–e5 structures.

The game continued 1...Bxe3 2.Qxe3 Qa7 3.Qg3!, followed by Nf5, giving White a powerful attacking position.

White wins with a neat combination:
1.Nxd5! Rxc6 (1...exd5 2.Rxc8 +-) 2.Nf6+! Kg7 3.Rh1!(D)

Black’s king is caught in a mating net! For example:
3...Bxc5 4.Rh7+ Kf8 5.Rh8+ Ke7 6.Re8#

Black could have won by force with 1...g5+! 2.fxg5 Nf8!(D) — threatening Ng6+ and Qxh3#, while also stopping Qd7+.

White’s only tries, 3.g4 or 3.g6, both lose to 3...Qf3!, with checkmate soon to follow.

Maxime played 1...Qf3? allowing 2.Qd7+ and White escaped.

White's king is completely naked and mate followed soon.

A genius on and off the board.
We’re going to miss you, Danya.🕊

Black completes the mating net with 1...Ra1+! 2.Kg2 Ng5!(D), threatening Nf3/Nh3 and Rg1#.

White tried 3.h3, but after 3...gxh3+! 4.Kh2 Bxg3! had to resign as Black either mates or queens the h-pawn.

P.S. 3...h5?? would give away the win: 4.Rad6! Bxd6 5.Rxg5!=

In the game, Black found a strong, energetic sequence:

1...Nxe4 2.Nxe4 f5!(D), and suddenly White’s pieces feel uncomfortable.

And after 5.Ne2?! e5! White’s position collapsed.
