03.03.2025 19:52 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Itβs a conference that truly re-energised me as a designer, knowing that there are many more like me who share my passion for creating inclusive and accessible products. The power of community and collaboration is truly inspiring.
28.02.2025 11:24 β π 5 π 1 π¬ 2 π 0Workshop with Nicole Aleong on futures anthropology today was so good. Never realised how dynamic and complicated a train platform is as a space before. (Was also in a group with Steph Troeth who is very cool.) #ResearchByTheSea

Two participants in a workshop are seated at a table, engaged in a one-to-one discussion. A large presentation screen in the background displays the words "Get to know each other" along with a diagram. Other attendees are visible in the background.
A woman wearing glasses and a patterned black and white dress stands, while two seated participants at a table focus on their work. One person leans on their hand, appearing deep in thought.
Three people engaged in an active discussion over a table with papers and sticky notes. One woman holds a few sheets of paper while explaining something to the others, who are leaning in attentively.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for today's workshops on day 2 of #ResearchbytheSea.
Our own Luke Hay explored how to Make an Impact with Quantitative UX this morning & Nicole Aleong guided us through Futures Anthropology as a Method: Applying Futures Orientations to UX Research this afternoon.

The title page of my talk βThe Spirit of Bartleby: In defence of refusalβ features art called βIncantations to a Vague Borderlandβ. The triptych, completed in 2024, is by the London-based artist Gaia Ozwyn whose practice seeks to test the boundaries of belonging and separation, echoing her reflections on her dual Caribbean-British identity.
Drawing from Black, Latinx, and queer histories; international feminisms, and artists who won't be bound by disciplinary orthodoxy, my talk at Research by the Sea explores refusal as design practice.
