With the support of her carers, 92-year-old Pam is able to live independently at home, surrounded by family, friends, neighbours & the community that she loves.

Fantastic discussion at #ADASSspringseminar25 with Abbie-Jo Lawrence talking as a person with lived experience of social care. Her key line: “It’s about what’s strong, not what’s wrong”, how choice and control is central to enabling people to lead their own unique gloriously ordinary lives.

So important that we develop a strong narrative about how good social care is about making it possible for people to live as full members of their communities. Social care is about far more than just hospital discharge of older people (important though that is).

Such an important area for us to be focused on.
