Today, after months of requests, I toured the Broadview ICE Processing Facility. I want to share what I saw.

The facility has no food vendor, no medical care, and detainees have to use toilets in the middle of shared cells. These are in no way suitable conditions to be holding anyone — period.

Just in NIH grants, It looks like beautiful Iowa City, home of the U of Iowa, will lose $71m in funding. That's almost $1k per resident. And that's before all the other cuts to SSA, FDA, etc.

I agree wholeheartedly with the sentiment being expressed by citizens and governments around the world to the effect no one should be traveling to the United States at this time.

Under our current government, we are a danger to ourselves and everyone else, and should be avoided.

But now they have the courts for recourse... they would not have anything is the govt is shut down.

Tell me why it is better to let him have a bigger power grab with no courts to stop him? He would say no one is essential and bring back 10% of the staffs...I know there has got to be more to this if you don't think this is an issue!
