Back to the tapes. No information here that I can latch on to. It is even difficult to place it in time; could be 1980s… maybe this century. Keyboard, drum machine, and what I think is a krar… though it could be a guitar. Really good, though, which is all that matters.

What is lost in 10th generation fidelity (side one is like listening through a mattress) is more than made up for in the burbling organ, on the money horn stabs, and whip-smart rhythm.

Even a mediocre screenwriter could write an Oscar worthy screenplay from Phil Orenstein's life. The cast of characters is unbelievable. He's like a Zelig of the 1960s NYC avant-garde art scene. Warhol had a factory in name only, Phil had an actual factory!
