If you're lucky you can run some Windows things almost perfectly in Wine. I think Clip works in it last I tried (the first one after it changed name), don't know about the latest though. I'm right at home with Krita though so I don't really need that side of things!

Good TVs are really good as monitors but the low end... avoid for sure. 🫠 They really are bottom rung.

The trick to full time Linux use is finding replacements for each thing you rely on! Other than that, the KDE desktop is Windows-like enough that I don't really think about it, I just do my art!

They only thing I wish it had is a text tool worthy of the comic typesetting I need... I have to hop over to Inkscape for that but it's not much of a problem as long as the result is good!

Mine's second hand but whoever had it before me (got it off ebay) didn't really use it much, it was in perfect condition! No idea how long they'd had it either.

And thanks for the tips! I do need to replace a similar one in the bedroom that fried itself (weird, I know..) so I'll have a look!

Technically they don't... the biggest I've seen marketed as a "monitor" is 43". This one's a TV. 📺
