Like Johhny (the antagonist of the first film & the protagonist of the first season is a Gen X-er/elder millennial grappling with the fact that his life went off the rails in the 80's & he didn't get the world he expected (relatable millennial stuff) & his journey to find himself at rock bottom

I haven't seen all of it but I enjoyed the few season's I have seen & what I would say is that if you've been watching mostly the fight stuff - that's way less interesting than it being a show that's interested in character work & ...philosophy?
