New panel of young people to shape the Government’s Youth Guarantee Young people with experience of being out of education, employment and training will help shape policy as part of a new Youth Guarantee Advisory Panel.

A new youth panel is being set up to help advise the Labour government on the Youth Guarantee - ensuring all 18-21yr olds can work or learn.

The panel will contain those with experience of being out of education, employment & training. It will discuss the barriers they face & how to overcome them.

Let's apply this to traumatised adults too.

Blaming & shaming pupils parents /caregivers doesn't break intergenerational trauma. Pupils will blame themselves, this is what traumatised kids do.Its never about blame because where does it stop? It's about supporting pupils to heal & do things differently.🧠🌱

This study is well underway now with initial findings showing promise for provision of new insight into the relationship between childhood trauma and homelessness, informing recommendations for future developments in trauma informed practice.

Excited to share our most recent publication (co-authored with @profmlhussier.bsky.social detailing the protocol for our study exploring trauma-impaired executive function and its impacts on homeless adults in the UK (see link below).

We need the same from our services. Not you are safe because I say so and the walls are pastel colours but if you miss 3 appointments you are off the books. We need them to have the time and resource to show compassion and care for as long as it takes to support recovery.

The worst days are when we drop our guard and someone gets through the defenses and hurts the little one inside directly.
