I've heard of people who use their "higher levels" of ASD as a superiority crux to battle insecurity.

I'm not sure if that's what's happening here, but I do encourage mutual understanding regardless.

The stigma of pathology is real & in many cases, especially back in the day, was extremely harmful & socially crippling.

Sometimes an experience needs to be analysed to be understood & shared though.

It can be a weight but can sometimes uplift. It depends from person to person.

I feel like you're coming from a very neuro positive frame of mind & it is not only relatable, but commendable.

There may be a little more nuance required to answer this thoroughly though.

I'm not one to quash anyone's truth though, unless it's actively harmful of course.

Pathological frameworks are often deficit based, which I am not on board with. I experience differences but not what I would deam disability.

It can lead to insights of our own though. You can eat the fruit & spit out the seeds.

Some people will only receive systemic support with the paperwork.

As a parent we looked to diagnosis to better understand our dynamics as a whole.

It was an incredibly cathartic & validating process.

We did not have the objective expertise or cognitive capacity to do it on our own.

Now we understand our baselines & more realistic expectations on ourselves.

I truly hope Netflix's take on this is not to be swayed by haters & that they continue to showcase diverse voices & characters.

I have my doubts as to any corporate decision makers bowing to anything but market value.

That being said, diverse audiences will switch off if it goes the other way.
