18.02.2025 18:43 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0This is a fundamental breach of at least one of Wikipedia’s principles (eg the right to edit anonymously).
One of the major concerns for me is that this seems to concern edits about the magazine’s political view and history of islamophobia.
In France, journalists of the magazine Le Point have tried to set Wikipedia volunteers under pressure following an edit to the Wikipedia article about the paper. They threatened to reveal the user’s identity and even tried to contact the user’s presumed employer. (…)

Infant mortality increased along with births in most U.S. states with abortion bans in the first 18 months after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, according to new research. Babies who were Black, lived in Southern states or had fetal birth defects died at the highest rates.

A bird's-eye view of a former Auschwitz II-Birkenau camp showing a wide dirt pathway flanked by parallel rows of barbed-wire fences. Groups of visitors walk along the path, surrounded by the remnants of brick structures and barracks, now reduced to foundations. Green grass contrasts with the somber history of the site, as the path leads toward a guard tower in the distance.
Auschwitz was at the end of a long process. It did not start from gas chambers.
This hatred was gradually developed by humans. From ideas, words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanization & escalating violence... to systematic and industrial murder.
Auschwitz took time.

Always good to cultural heritage travel.
I’m very glad to be able to tell that this year, another German cultural heritage has made its way up north. The Scandinavian loved the Christmas tree, and now, here it is: The figure-formed sausage in its Christmas edition.
As you probably know, Germans are sausage enthusiasts. That why there’s…

However, the key point is that the British Library is a major, Government supported body, yet is currently functioning more or less as the paper based 19th century entity it grew from.
Had an amazing time at Deutsches Technikmuseum (German Museum of Technology) yesterday. A museum buzzing with loads of visitors and with so many amazing objects in all sizes (trains, planes, ships…). Always contextualised with the negative sides of technological advancements.
