TMW your boss calls you on a weekend and your response basically boils down to "I can't help you from home, I don't have the usermanual for the thing you're working on.
YOU have the usermanual at the office, go read it.".
were too big.
Found some slightly better sized plastic washers at work and put those in, seems to work correctly now.
But it's currently very warm weather over here, so I'd rather keep it dangerously open then spend 30 minutes putting the mesh cage back on xD
started working more reliably, but wasn't moving correctly because the shaft could slip to far forward, disconnecting the gearbox in the back that oscillates it left and right.
Put in some rubber and metal washer I had lying around which fixed that but then it made a hell of racket because they
So I've been having issues with this fan for a while, mainly that it started spinning slower and slower over time.
Eventually it wouldn't even start at all and I took off the metal cage so I could manually help it start.
Took out a broken plastic part and re-oiled the bushings/bearings, and it

I'm sure they're happy that the house is heated again and regularly has people in it to give them attention and possibly try to steal their lunch.
23.11.2024 09:43 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0So we were working at a client's house yesterday, which is being fully renovated, when we had a visitor show up.
Apperantly the previous owner of the house passed away, and this was his cat, who's been lonely ever since.
The backdoor has a cat flap so he/she can just enter and leave whenever, and
Remembered it!
So as we got ready to leave, we're standing in the hallway by the front door, talking to our contact, when without any obvious reason, the front door opens on its own, to the confusion of our client.
People who now have the app are testing it, and are opening the door remotely xD
behind those 8 units.

I started typing this up to get to something funny...
But now that I did, I forgot what it was >.<
Also installed large coverplates behind 8 or so indoor unit, because the old ones were enormous CRT monitors which were never removed from the walls whenever new paint, wallpaper or whatever was done and since the new indoor units are digital, handsfree and much smaller, there were ugly rectangles

Of the dozen or so people who wanted to use this function, only one person actually managed to do it.
Luckily, that person also is our contact for the building, and if anyone has issues with electrical stuff, they notify him, and if needed, he calls us.
We did help setup the app for the
option for residents to install an app on their phone to be able to answer the front door of the building through it.
I printed out larger sized Dutch-only manuals of which app to install and how to connect an Android or iPhone to their indoor unit, and dropped them in everyones mailbox last

The other replacement line splitter, in the garage, I also moved, but this time just half a meter from the ceiling to the wall for easier maintenance and troubleshooting.
25 of the indoor intercom units are WiFi enabled, and there's an
the ones our new system uses (and ours also require 230V AC input power, old ones didn't), but the previous intercom ALREADY HAD stuff in that same closet, so I don't understand why they didn't also put 1 splitter there, considering the total length from the outdoor unit to the farthest indoor
16.11.2024 18:53 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Also 2 four-way linesplitters, one of which I decided to move to inside a utility closet which was maybe 5 meters from the old splitters location which the previous installer decided to screw to the ceiling in a hallway for some reason?!
Granted, the previous system's splitters were smaller than
