A promotional graphic featuring the text: “COMING SOON – Webinar: Exploring Gendered Health Pathways”. The design has abstract dark blue and purple wave pattern. A stylised outline of a walking person appears in the bottom left, and the Gendered Health Pathways logo is in the bottom right. The Global 50/50 logo can be seen in the top right corner.
We're hosting an online event spotlighting the #GenderedHealthPathways tool - our latest effort to show how gender shapes health journeys across #diabetes, #HIV and #hypertension.

Quote by Diah S. Saminarsih, Founder & CEO, Center for Indonesia's Strategic Development Initiatives (CISDI): “Decision-makers often say they lack data to support the formulation of gender-responsive policies.” (Quote continues on the next graphic)
“Gendered Health Pathways can help planners understand precisely where women’s health can be best improved.” (Quote continues on the next graphic)
“It’s my utmost hope to see this tool used for visualisations of Indonesian data to inform all development actors.”
Our new tool, #GenderedHealthPathways, visualises sex-disaggregated data across the health journey for #HIV, #diabetes & #hypertension — revealing where gender-based inequities emerge & where interventions are needed.

Graphic with a large green question mark on a light blue background. Bold navy blue text reads: 'How might understanding the ways gender affects people’s lives bring about better health for all?' At the bottom left, there is a logo for Gendered Health Pathways, featuring three wavy lines in green, purple, and navy.
We often underestimate how much #gender shapes our health. It influences who gets sick, who gets diagnosed, and who gets treated.
🔍 #GenderedHealthPathways reveals these hidden inequalities—so we can push for change and better health for all.

A promotional graphic for This is Gender: Gender & Disability Open Call. It features a black-and-white image of a Sezer, a 13-year-old boy with spina bifida, kneeling on grass with his arms open wide and his head tilted to the sky. To his side is his wheelchair, adorned with a bunch of balloons. The photo is powerful, showing Sezer’s resilience and how he dreams big. A muted rainbow stripe frames a grey text overlay in the bottom left corner of the image representing the Disability Pride Flag. The text reads: "This is Gender: Gender & Disability Open Call 2025. Enter by 18th March 2025." Logos for Global Health 50/50 and CREA appear in the bottom right corner of the graphic, overlaid on the image.
Our This is Gender open call closes tomorrow—don’t miss your chance to be part of a global movement to confront exclusion.
We’re looking for powerful visual stories that reveal how #gender and #disability shape lives—through systems, spaces, relationships, and beyond.

Powerful remarks from Dr. Tlaleng Mofokeng: when right to health is affected, the right to economic participation, to sports, to enjoying life is threated. The right to #health underpins other #HumanRights.

Other systems-level interventions that work for women's leadership are mentorship, sponsorship, training. Quotas and #DEI policies need to be complmented by these interventions and other ways of investing in a PIPELINE for WOMEN LEADERS in POLITICS.

However, ambassador Delphine O highlighted France's systematic approach to #GenderEquality through laws that require at least 40% women in board & Exec teams of public and private sector. MFA France has seen an increase from 12% to > 46% in women ambassadors & leaders since this law.

Attended a #CSW69 side event on Women In Power: Getting to 50-50 which discussed women's unequal representation in political spaces. As most events on #WomensLeadership there wasn't enough emphasis on systemic barriers for women's leadership, and more on personal empowerment.
