18.02.2026 20:59 — 👍 1011 🔁 277 💬 7 📌 1It is a testament to the human spirit that so many artists manage to create in *spite* of the conditions that oppress them,
But that doesn't make the oppression the thing that helped.
When I hear that Frida Kahlo created in spite of chronic pain, I wonder how much more she'd have made without it.

A muted-blue halfbody illustration of a male character, Eden, long white hair wild around him and centered by two columns, surrounded by chrysanthemums. He looks blankly upward, half of his face completely white and dripping down to pool into loosely cupped hands, then falling further as "dust". He wears loose, draping fabrics and shining gold jewelry accents. A red string cuts through the lower half, circling around his wrist.
Oh Lord, return me to dust ✦

Painting of an armor helmet in primarily pinks yellows and blues. Flowers exist around it.
I finished a painting that isn't for anyone for the first time in probably years. Is it perfect? No. I've learned that I have no godly clue how roses work. But I'm mostly happy with it.

I finally found where I hid the hoodie but all I can smell is dust.
It'll be 2 years in a few weeks but I'm still not ready to wash it.
There's fur on it.
I've already figured out I won't like this book but I've almost hit the halfway point and really don't want to dnf another book already.

Trans rights are human rights.

31.01.2026 01:15 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0dark green book cover showing a hooded, masked figure overlooking a dilapidated house. The figure's eyes are pure black, the mask has white cracks running through it. The title "Looney Lynda Darcey" is in a handwritten style in lime green. "Connor Heumiller" is below it in a white sans serif.
And the final cover! The ebook preorder is available here a.co/d/fU99jCu! And physical copies will also exist once me and KDP stop fighting regarding print quality and how it reads tones of black.

An in progress painting. Dark trees vignette the image with the startings of a hooded figure in the middle. A very basic house rectangle shape is in the foreground.
Close up of more progress on the hooded figure. More shading exists now, along with dark eyes and cracks in the mask. The house is still unfinished.
I apparently kept zooming in with each image. A close up of the hooded figured whose eyes are now more gross and rotting. The house magically has been finished as I did it in one sitting since old houses are easier to paint than rotting masked faces.
Thought I'd post some process images of the cover I did for @connorwriteshorror.bsky.social 's upcoming new horror novel, Looney Lynda Darcey. Definitely not at all because I don't post enough art on here and the piece I'm working on isn't in a state I want to show yet 🫠

ICE is beyond reform. Abolish it.
BTW when I say abolish ICE, I mean abolish it entirely and replace it with exactly nothing. Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free. That's it.
